ORIGINAL - Sebastian Vettel - 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

In this original painting Stutchbury has explored the concept of chiaroscuro, to dramatically depict Sebastian Vettel’s Red Bull in the 2010 Abu Dhabi GP season finale. I wanted to show the glistening bodywork of the RB6, as it passes from the warm glow of the evening sunset into the deep shadows of the grandstands.

The RB6 was the car that transformed Red Bull Racing from rising contenders into Formula One champions. Designed under Adrian Newey, its extraordinary aerodynamic performance made it the class of the 2010 field, securing Red Bull’s first Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championships.

The season’s defining moment came under the lights at Yas Marina. Starting from pole, Vettel produced a composed, faultless victory against the odds, to be crowned the youngest World Champion in F1 history.
