A painting of Ayrton Senna on his way to an amazing second place, in the rain at the 1984 Monaco Grand Prix. This race became iconic for the way Senna hunted down Prost in appalling conditions, sometimes driving seconds a lap quicker than the McLaren driver. Here I have shown the exhaust backfire of Senna’s Toleman, as it rounds La Rascasse. I have focused on creating a vivid contrast between the glowing warm colours of the flame, against the cool blues of the watery track and barriers. A vibrant piece in celebration of the hugely popular Formula 1 legend.
